SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Darrell Dean Beazly of Mansfield, who passed away on July 22, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly was born on September 12, 1937 in Champaign; his parents were Percy Webb Beazly and Eleanor Randel Beazly; he married Carol Elaine Trimble on January 1, 1959 in Mansfield; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly taught food inspection for the United States Army in the Meat and Dairy Hygiene School in Chicago; after three years in the Army, he farmed near Mansfield from 1963 until his passing; he and his family also operated a Radio Shack franchise store in Monticello for 18 years and a True Value Hardware since 1991; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly was a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Agriculture; an early adopter of new technologies in agriculture, he enjoyed a challenge and became interested in computers in the late 1970s; he taught the first agriculture computing classes at Parkland Community College in the early 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly was a life member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church; he was a 4-H leader with the Piatt County 4-H and Agriculture Extension Councils for many years; he was also active in the Monticello Rotary Club; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly enjoyed traveling in the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South America; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, George Beazly and James Beazly; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Beazly is survived by his wife, Carol; his sons, Randel (Simone) Beazly and Bruce Beazly; his grandsons, Geoffry and Simon; his sister, Mary Louis Koch; his sisters-in-law, Faye Beazly and Evelyn Beazly; and many nieces and nephews, including Timothy Whitney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Darrell Dean Beazly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Darrell Beazly as an expression of our sympathy.
