SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rosie Lee Carson Givens, who passed away on August 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Rosie Givens was born to Jake Sr. and Ada Carson on August 3, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Rosie Givens joined Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1970s, where she served as Vice-President and Treasurer of the Pastors' Aid for many years; she moved her membership to the "GOP" Garden of Prayer in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Rosie Givens was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Rosie Givens is survived by her husband, Lester Givens; her son, Rev. Calvin Carson; her daughter, Katrenia R. Givens; and her brother, Jake Carson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rosie Lee Carson Givens, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rosie Givens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
