SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Louis J. "Lou" Gnadt III, who passed away on July 20, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gnadt III was born on August 29, 1949 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gnadt III was a member of the first graduating class from Stevenson High School; he served as a volunteer firefighter with the Vernon Fire Protection District and moved his way up the ranks to Captain before his retirement in 1998 after 31 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gnadt III enjoyed making jokes, talking about sports and his family, and playing bingo and blackjack; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gnadt III was preceded in death by his parents, Buzz and Dolores; and

WHEREAS, Louis Gnadt III is survived by his wife, Deb Gammon; his brothers, Allen (Patsy) Gnadt and Dave (Pat) Gnadt; his sisters-in-law, Sandy (Bob) Kliver, Wendy (Gene) Gabry, and Kim (Rodney Dawson) Gammon; his nieces and nephews, Theresa, Christina, Margaret, Allison, Mike, Dave, Megan, Beth, and Carrie; his godchildren, Christie, Brian, and Kristina; and his nephews of the heart, Ben and Scott; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis J. "Lou" Gnadt III; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Gnadt III as an expression of our sympathy.
