SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E. "Bob" Reiher of Carlinville, who passed away on July 30, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Robert Reiher was born on June 22, 1967 in Carlinville; his parents were Veryl and Linda Reiher; he married Lori Yowell on July 12, 1991 at St. Joseph's Church in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, Robert Reiher graduated from Carlinville High School in 1985; he earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1989 and a Master's Degree in Space Sciences from the University of Houston in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Robert Reiher's proudest achievement in his professional life was working for McDonnell Douglas and NASA at the Johnson Space Center, teaming with other rocket scientists to design the International Space Station; and

WHEREAS, Robert Reiher was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Church, where he was a founding member and President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society; he also joined his wife on the Carlinville High School All-School Musical team, where he built sets, managed backstage, and told goofy jokes to hundreds of CHS students; and

WHEREAS, Robert Reiher was preceded in death by his grandparents, Truman and Fern Reiher and Victor and Mae Rosentreter; and

WHEREAS, Robert Reiher is survived by his wife, Lori; his daughter, Madeline Marie; his son, Jack Truman; his sisters Annette (Farley) Cole, Susi (Stuart) Twitchell, Melissa (Andy) Bland, and Tanya (Nawar) Alchaar; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert E. "Bob" Reiher; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Reiher as an expression of our sympathy.
