SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry "Buster" Reed, who passed away on February 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed was born on March 31, 1947 in Chicago; his parents were James and Daisy Reed; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed attended Skinner Elementary School and DuSable Upper Education Center High School, where he played in the school's drum and bugle corps; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed retired from the ETA hand2mind Company in 1998 after almost 30 years of service as an orders manager; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed often spent his free time reading the paper, watching the Chicago Bears and Bulls, fussing at the Chicago Cubs, listening to the blues, dancing and stepping, talking with friends and family, and barbecuing; he also enjoyed fishing, watching sports, playing softball and basketball with his brothers, card games, and parties; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed will be remembered fondly by those who knew and loved him as a kind, gentle, and protective father and a fun loving and friendly man who shared what he had with those who needed it most; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Ann Chambers-Reed; his parents; his grandparents, Charlie and Fannie Reed and Jacob and Viola Walker; and many other friends and family members; and

WHEREAS, Larry Reed is survived by 5 children, Larry Stribling, Eugene Reed, Latrice Reed, Marcelus Chambers, and Simone Chambers; 9 siblings, Frances Chestleigh, James Reed, Jesse Pitts, Robert Reed, Arthur Reed, Mae Ethel Williams, Sydney Reed, Lola Reed, and Fannie Mae Washington; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Larry "Buster" Reed; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Reed as an expression of our sympathy.
