SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Resi F. Kern; and

WHEREAS, Resi Kern was born on January 3, 1935 in Ahlen, Germany; her parents were Heinrich and Theresia Griese; she married Gerhard Kern on February 14, 1959 in Forest Park; and

WHEREAS, Resi Kern immigrated to the United States in 1958 and found work as a seamstress; after the passing of her husband, she moved to Geneva; and

WHEREAS, Resi Kern was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Geneva; and

WHEREAS, Resi Kern was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gerhard; and

WHEREAS, Resi Kern is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Joe) Ruelas, Anita (Dr. Thomas) Hazel, and Connie Braniff; her grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, and Marty Ruelas, Cassandra Wilcoxen, Elizabeth Braniff, and Madeline and Emma Hazel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Resi F. Kern; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Resi Kern as an expression of our sympathy.
