SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary E. Sekich, formerly of Wildwood, who passed away on June 17, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Mary Sekich was born in Waukegan to Harry and Hazel Ross (McDaniel) on February 6, 1932; she graduated from Waukegan High School in 1951; she married Mike Sekich in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 5, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Mary Sekich worked for the Globe Department store in downtown Waukegan, her first job; and

WHEREAS, Mary Sekich was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Robert and William; her husband of 51 years, Mike; and her great-grandson, Zachary Anton; and

WHEREAS, Mary Sekich is survived by her sons, Michael (Teresa) and James (Kelly); her daughter, Kathleen Sekich; her grandchildren, Dawn Brigman, Dana Sekich, Debra Aker, and Cassie Sekich; and her great-grandchildren, Lillian Moran, Abygail Brigman, Madeline Brigman, and Larkin Crandall; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary E. Sekich, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Sekich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
