SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Philip C. Bradley, Jr. of Chatham, who
4passed away on June 27, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. was born on April 29, 1944 in
6Springfield; his parents were Philip C. and Frances Platt
7Bradley, Sr.; he married Sylvia Sorrill on August 24, 1974 in
8Alexander; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. graduated from Sangamon State
10University with a bachelor's degree and delivered the
11university's first student commencement speech; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. began his teaching career at
13Little Flower Elementary as a sixth grade teacher; he later
14became the Director for the Illinois Department of Public Aid
15and the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services; in
161996, he became the President and CEO of the Family Health
17Network in Chicago; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. enjoyed serving in his
19community; he was a member and Elder at Westminster
20Presbyterian Church and was a trustee for Lincoln Land
21Community College for 19 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. was preceded in death by his
2parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Philip Bradley, Jr. is survived by his wife,
4Sylvia Bradley, and his daughters, Alexandra (John) Viser and
5Brooke Bradley; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Philip C. Bradley,
9Jr.; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Philip Bradley, Jr. as an expression
12of our sympathy.
