SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis X. Gavin, who passed away at the age of 90; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin retired as a Lieutenant from the Chicago Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin was a longtime member of the Ted Knusman AMVET Post #13; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin was the beloved husband of the late Anna Marie (Brennan); the devoted father of Patricia (Kenneth) Hoffmann, Terrence, William (Catherine), James, and the late Timothy; the loving grandfather of Kenneth, Margaret (David), Andrew, Jennifer, Timothy, William, Tara, Kaitlyn, Erin, and Patrick; the loving son of the late William and Margaret (Browne); the cherished brother of the late William, Thomas, James, Walter, John, and Theresa Vranek; and the dear cousin, uncle, and in-law to many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Francis X. Gavin, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francis Gavin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
