SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George Edward Droste, who passed away on
4June 13, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Droste was born on May 22, 1929 in Alton;
6his parents were Theodore and Mary Droste; he married Margaret
7Maher on December 31, 1951 in Bethalto; and
 
8    WHEREAS, George Droste served in the United States Army; he
9was also a lifelong original member of St. Ambrose Catholic
10Church in Godfrey; and
 
11    WHEREAS, George Droste retired from Union Electric in 1991
12after 38 years of service; and
 
13    WHEREAS, George Droste enjoyed gardening, hunting, and
14fishing; and
 
15    WHEREAS, George Droste was preceded in death by his
16parents; his brothers, Ben and David Droste; and his sisters,
17Agatha and Mary Droste, Agnes Hesse, Sister Mary Ann Droste OP,
18Sister Mary Delores Droste OSU, and Sister Clare Droste SSM;

1    WHEREAS, George Droste is survived by his wife, Margaret;
2his children, Margaret Mary "Margie" (James) Dieren, Mary Jo
3(John) Ward, Daniel (Ruthie) Droste, Donald Droste (Patty
4Finn), Eileen (David) Daly, Nancy (Monty) Curvey, Joseph Droste
5(Stacey Baca), and Linda Droste; 17 grandchildren; 10
6great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul (Dorothy) Droste; and
7his sisters, Juliana Droste SSM, Julianna Mulrean, and Gertrude
8Droste; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of George Edward Droste;
12and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of George Droste as an expression of
15our sympathy.
