SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George Edward Droste, who passed away on June 13, 2016; and

WHEREAS, George Droste was born on May 22, 1929 in Alton; his parents were Theodore and Mary Droste; he married Margaret Maher on December 31, 1951 in Bethalto; and

WHEREAS, George Droste served in the United States Army; he was also a lifelong original member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey; and

WHEREAS, George Droste retired from Union Electric in 1991 after 38 years of service; and

WHEREAS, George Droste enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing; and

WHEREAS, George Droste was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ben and David Droste; and his sisters, Agatha and Mary Droste, Agnes Hesse, Sister Mary Ann Droste OP, Sister Mary Delores Droste OSU, and Sister Clare Droste SSM; and

WHEREAS, George Droste is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Margaret Mary "Margie" (James) Dieren, Mary Jo (John) Ward, Daniel (Ruthie) Droste, Donald Droste (Patty Finn), Eileen (David) Daly, Nancy (Monty) Curvey, Joseph Droste (Stacey Baca), and Linda Droste; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul (Dorothy) Droste; and his sisters, Juliana Droste SSM, Julianna Mulrean, and Gertrude Droste; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of George Edward Droste; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Droste as an expression of our sympathy.
