SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Henry Kahl of East Peoria, who passed away on May 25, 2016; and

WHEREAS, John Kahl was born on October 31, 1942; his parents were Joseph and Susanna Kahl; he married Genevieve "Geri" Dickerson on May 28, 1964 in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, John Kahl retired from Caterpillar's Mapleton plant in 2001 after 38 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, John Kahl enjoyed being outdoors and was often found in his garage or yard; he also loved fishing, car racing, and spending family time with his children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, John Kahl was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; his brother, Joe; his sisters, Francis and Angie; and his parents; and

WHEREAS, John Kahl is survived by his children, Christine Kahl, John (Allison) Kahl, Michelle (Mike) Spokely, Colleen, Theresa, and Katie (Richie) Jackson, Stephanie (David) Kahl-Burnstein, and Monica (Keun) Getz; his grandchildren, Andrew, Keaira, Jared, Ashlyn, Evan, Genevieve, Riley, Nick, Josh, Zack, Jake, Sam, Oliver, and Zalie; his brother, Frank; and his in-laws, the Dickerson, Sylkaitis, Shults, and Smith families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of John Henry Kahl; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Kahl as an expression of our sympathy.
