SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry Dean Byrd of Pekin, who passed away on May 23, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Larry Byrd was born in Peoria to Percy and Pearl Plotner Byrd on November 13, 1944; he married Penny Ann Ziemer in Creve Coeur on August 31, 1969; and

WHEREAS, Larry Byrd worked at Caterpiller Inc., for the City of Pekin as a garbage man, for Morton High School as a custodian, and later at Hanna Steel in Pekin; he owned and operated B & B Home Improvements; and

WHEREAS, Larry Byrd enjoyed bowling, going mushrooming, working outdoors, and his animals; and

WHEREAS, Larry Byrd was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Byrd; and his sisters, Ruth Scott and Norma Baxter; and

WHEREAS, Larry Byrd is survived by his wife, Penny; his children, Tammy (Rick) Hyatt, Larry (Jenny) Byrd, Doreen (Tim) Mussleman, Jill (Al) Moore, and Mike Belville; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Terry (Barb) Byrd; and his sisters, Doris (Chuck) Fredrick, Delores Byrd, Donna (Jay) Williamson, and Barb (John) Crumb, and Lois Leal; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Larry Dean Byrd, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Byrd as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
