SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carl H. Raymond of Bunker Hill, who passed away on May 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Carl Raymond was born in Bunker Hill to Carl R. and Edith (Schulthes) Raymond on July 16, 1929; he graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1947 and married Eunice Jean Lenzi in Chesterfield on August 29, 1948; he served with the United States Army, 25th Infantry Division with the Occupation Forces in Japan after World War II; he was later recalled for the Korean Conflict, serving with the 2nd Infantry Division; and

WHEREAS, Carl Raymond was a sales manager for Sears; he retired in 1983 after more than 32 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Carl Raymond was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge of Bunker Hill, a member of the Eastern Star, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1308 of Alton; and

WHEREAS, Carl Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dr. William H. Raymond; and his sister, Linda Lee Raymond; and

WHEREAS, Carl Raymond is survived by his wife, Jean; his son, Michael Raymond; his brother, Donald A. (Mary Ann) Raymond; his foster sisters, Carol Hanner, Sharon Orban, and Patsy Mary; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carl H. Raymond, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carl Raymond as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
