SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eddie D. Lee of Chicago; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Eddie Lee was born to Theodore and Erma Lee on
5March 12, 1951; he graduated from Du Sable Upper Grade Center
6and attended Du Sable High School; he served in the United
7States Army in Vietnam from August of 1968 to August of 1971;
8he was awarded the Army Accommodation Medal; he later attended
9the Himalayan Institute and a yoga and meditation center in
10Glenview; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Eddie Lee was united in marriage twice in his
12life; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Eddie Lee worked numerous jobs throughout his
14life, including Lem's Bar-B-Que House and as Head Custodian for
15the Chicago Housing Authority; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Eddie Lee enjoyed playing chess, playing pool,
17laughing, and joking; he was fluent in Spanish and always
18looked forward to the annual Robert Taylor Homes Picnic; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Eddie Lee is survived by his beloved son, Chad
20Lee; his granddaughter, Haley Lee; his stepmother, Eliza Lee;

1his brothers, Prince (Christine) Lee, Thomas (Josephine)
2Jamison, Dan Lee, Vertis Lee, Leonard Lee, Jerry (Cynthia) Lee,
3and Jonathan Lee; his sisters, Patricia Lofton, Louise Jamison,
4and Margaret Lee; his sister-in-law, Helen Lee; his aunt, Sarah
5Pinkney; his godson, Marty Holmes; his goddaughters, Denise,
6Laverne, Valerie, Liz, Sheila, Nepheteria, and Angel; his
7favorite cousin, Edna; his Robert Taylor Homes Family; and a
8host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Eddie D. Lee, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Eddie Lee as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
