SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Douglas Jones of Woodstock, who
4passed away on March 24, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Jones was born on February 28, 1926 in
6West Frankfort; his parents were William and Mary Jones; he
7married Mary Karroll on April 3, 1948; and
 
8    WHEREAS, William Jones proudly served his country in the
9United States Air Force in Germany during World War II; and
 
10    WHEREAS, William Jones was a member of the Plumbers Local
11Union 93 for over 50 years with a career working as a
12residential plumber in new construction; and
 
13    WHEREAS, William Jones had the privilege of being a charter
14member of the First Baptist Church of Palatine and Calvary
15Baptist Church of Woodstock (now Doxa Fellowship), where he
16served as a deacon, Music Ministry leader, and teacher and
17helped in building four churches; and
 
18    WHEREAS, William Jones enjoyed hunting, fishing,
19gardening, listening to music, participating in or watching
20sports events; he was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and

1the Chicago Bears; and
 
2    WHEREAS, William Jones was preceded in death by his
3parents; his brother, Paul (Helen), his sisters, Jessie
4(Foster), Florence (Sam), and Grace (Ken); his four
5brothers-in-law; and his sister-in-law; and
 
6    WHEREAS, William Jones is survived by his loving wife of 67
7years, Mary Jones; his children, Doug (Jan) Jones and Judi
8(Bruce) Jefko; his grandchildren, Mike (Mary Ellen), Michelle
9(Toby), Mark (Terri Jo), Chris, Jason (Nicole), and Staci
10(Christopher); and his 15 great-grandchildren; therefore, be
11it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of William Douglas Jones;
15and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of William Jones as an expression of
18our sympathy.
