SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Arthur Hansen of Deerfield, who passed away on April 2, 2016; and

WHEREAS, William Hansen was a high jumper at the University of Iowa in the 1970s; he won a Big Ten championship, earned NCAA All-American honors, and participated in the Olympic trials; and

WHEREAS, William Hansen was a valued computer programmer at Kleinschmidt, Inc. for more than 30 years; and

WHEREAS, William Hansen was known for his devotion to his family and friends, his dry sense of humor, and his thirst for knowledge; and

WHEREAS, William Hansen is survived by his wife of 33 years, Candice; his daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth; his mother, Irene Frank Hansen; and his siblings, Barb McCauley, Jan Martin, Joan Hansen, Carol Martino, Paul Hansen, and their families; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Arthur Hansen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Hansen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
