SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alfrieda M. "Fef" Kuhajda, who passed away on December 29, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Alfrieda Kuhajda was born on October 14, 1933 in Joliet; her parents were Carl and Elizabeth (nee Kunke) Wojnarowski; she was a lifelong resident of Joliet; and

WHEREAS, Alfrieda Kuhajda was a graduate of St. Thaddeus Grade School and a member of Joliet Township High School's Class of 1951; she subsequently attended Joliet Junior College; and

WHEREAS, Alfrieda Kuhajda was employed as the office manager at Associated Radiologists of Joliet for many years; and

WHEREAS, Alfrieda Kuhajda was a longtime member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary; and

WHEREAS, Alfrieda Kuhajda was preceded in death by her parents; 5 siblings, Harriet (Joseph, deceased) Kopernik, Cecelia (Stanley, deceased) Stanek, Eugenia Ritter, Edward (Loretta, deceased) Gawenda, and Eleanore Wojnarowski; and a great-niece, Kristi Sontag; and

WHEREAS, Alfrieda Kuhajda is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Kuhajda and Christine (Mark) Deters; 2 granddaughters, Katherine and Natalie Deters; 3 brothers, Richard (Ann) Wojnarowski, Eugene (Florence, deceased) Gawenda, and Casimir (Marian) Gawenda; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Alfrieda M. "Fef" Kuhajda; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alfrieda Kuhajda as an expression of our sympathy.
