SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis X. Gavin; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin retired as a Lieutenant with the Chicago Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin was a longtime member of the Ted Knusman AMVETS Post #13; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret (Browne) Gavin; his wife, Anna Marie (Brennan); his son, Timothy; and his brother, William; and

WHEREAS, Francis Gavin is survived by his children, Patricia (Kenneth) Hoffman, William (Catherine), and James; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Margaret (David), Andrew, Jennifer, Timothy, William, Tara, Kaitlyn, Erin, and Patrick; his brothers, Thomas, James, Walter, and John; and his sister, Theresa Vranek; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Francis X. Gavin, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Francis Gavin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
