SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Linda Joy Havens of Dahlonega, Georgia, who passed away on March 3, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Linda Havens was born in Woodstock to Clarence L. and Kathryn (McKnight) Roush on August 24, 1943; she grew up in Woodstock, where she had fond memories of horses, dogs, pet pigs, and family vacations to the family cabin in Birchwood, Wisconsin; she graduated from Woodstock High School in 1961; in her early twenties, she and her best friend, Sally McConnell, were in a bowling league at Edgetown Bowling Lanes when she met a Korean War veteran, Gerald L. Beckus, and they married in 1967; she married Robert "Bob" Havens in 1977; and

WHEREAS, Linda Havens began working at Oak Industries in Crystal Lake; she was also a pharmacy technician at Woodstock Memorial Hospital; she later worked for the McHenry County schools as a crossing guard and in food service; and

WHEREAS, Linda Havens moved to the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia after the passing of her husband to be closer to her twin brother and daughter; she enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music, and had a soft spot for any and all animals; she had many friends in Dahlonega, where she frequented the old Huddle House; and

WHEREAS, Linda Havens was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband, Gerald Beckus; and her second husband, Robert D. Havens; and

WHEREAS, Linda Havens is survived by her loving daughter, Jeralyn (Chuck) Forcier; her three grandchildren, Jake, Jenna, and Olivia Forcier; her twin brother, Larry J. (Anita) Roush; her brothers, Richard W. (Marsha) Roush and Robert Roush; her uncle, Russell (Isabel) Roush; her stepsons, Shane and Steven Havens; and her nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Linda Joy Havens, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Linda Havens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
