SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald Frank Koeppl of Geneva, who passed
4away on March 10, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl was born in Chicago to Frank and
6Margaret Koeppl on October 7, 1939; he graduated from Elmhurst
7College and married Gretchen L. Koeppl in Evansville, Indiana
8on December 23, 1961; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl started his teaching career
10choosing to direct the school play over bus duty so he would
11not have to be out in the cold of winter; he started teaching
12at Haines Junior High School during the 1963-64 school year and
13finished with St. Charles High School during the 1993-94 school
14year; he retired after over 30 years of teaching English and
15Drama and 51 years of directing high school theatre; he also
16directed shows for community theatre groups, including
17Playmakers and the No Center Aisle Theatre Company; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl was honored by the Illinois Alliance
19for Arts Education in 2005; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl and his wife enjoyed traveling
21throughout the world, visiting places such as Tahiti, Russia,

1Europe, and their beloved San Diego; in his retirement, he
2enjoyed connecting and keeping up with his former students and
3spending quality time with his grandkids; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl was preceded in death by his parents
5and his wife, Gretchen; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl is survived by his children, Todd
7(Kristina) Koeppl and Scott (Heidi) Koeppl, and his four
8grandchildren, Tyler Austin, Samuel Carl, Kyle Xaver, and Anna
9Lorraine; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Ronald Frank Koeppl, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ronald Koeppl as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
