| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ronald Frank Koeppl of Geneva, who passed | 4 | | away on March 10, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl was born in Chicago to Frank and | 6 | | Margaret Koeppl on October 7, 1939; he graduated from Elmhurst | 7 | | College and married Gretchen L. Koeppl in Evansville, Indiana | 8 | | on December 23, 1961; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl started his teaching career | 10 | | choosing to direct the school play over bus duty so he would | 11 | | not have to be out in the cold of winter; he started teaching | 12 | | at Haines Junior High School during the 1963-64 school year and | 13 | | finished with St. Charles High School during the 1993-94 school | 14 | | year; he retired after over 30 years of teaching English and | 15 | | Drama and 51 years of directing high school theatre; he also | 16 | | directed shows for community theatre groups, including | 17 | | Playmakers and the No Center Aisle Theatre Company; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl was honored by the Illinois Alliance | 19 | | for Arts Education in 2005; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl and his wife enjoyed traveling | 21 | | throughout the world, visiting places such as Tahiti, Russia, |

| 1 | | Europe, and their beloved San Diego; in his retirement, he | 2 | | enjoyed connecting and keeping up with his former students and | 3 | | spending quality time with his grandkids; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl was preceded in death by his parents | 5 | | and his wife, Gretchen; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Koeppl is survived by his children, Todd | 7 | | (Kristina) Koeppl and Scott (Heidi) Koeppl, and his four | 8 | | grandchildren, Tyler Austin, Samuel Carl, Kyle Xaver, and Anna | 9 | | Lorraine; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Ronald Frank Koeppl, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Ronald Koeppl as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy.
