SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stuart Paul Jackson of Moline, who passed away on March 1, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson was born in Ilion, New York to Fredrick and Alice Smith Jackson on July 22, 1951; he served in the United States Air Force and married Anne Meath in Phelps, New York on July 6, 1974; he earned his Juris Doctor from the Syracuse University College of Law; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson worked as an attorney in Watertown, New York and served as the Assistant District Attorney in Gouverneur, New York; he then moved to the Midwest, where he worked as an attorney in the real estate division of the Corps of Engineers for 25 years, first in St. Paul, Minnesota, and then at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring on February 29, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson enjoyed hiking, long drives, listening to music (especially from the 1960s), and reading anything from Scientific American to current events; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson is survived by his wife, Anne; his son, Christopher Jackson; his daughter, Alaine (Steve Block) Jackson; his siblings, Lorraine Storey, Mark (Glenda) Jackson, and Doug (Phyllis) Jackson; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stuart Paul Jackson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stuart Jackson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
