SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stuart Paul Jackson of Moline, who passed
4away on March 1, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson was born in Ilion, New York to
6Fredrick and Alice Smith Jackson on July 22, 1951; he served in
7the United States Air Force and married Anne Meath in Phelps,
8New York on July 6, 1974; he earned his Juris Doctor from the
9Syracuse University College of Law; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson worked as an attorney in Watertown,
11New York and served as the Assistant District Attorney in
12Gouverneur, New York; he then moved to the Midwest, where he
13worked as an attorney in the real estate division of the Corps
14of Engineers for 25 years, first in St. Paul, Minnesota, and
15then at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring on February 29, 2016;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson enjoyed hiking, long drives,
18listening to music (especially from the 1960s), and reading
19anything from Scientific American to current events; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson was preceded in death by his
21parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Stuart Jackson is survived by his wife, Anne; his
2son, Christopher Jackson; his daughter, Alaine (Steve Block)
3Jackson; his siblings, Lorraine Storey, Mark (Glenda) Jackson,
4and Doug (Phyllis) Jackson; and several nieces and nephews;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Stuart Paul Jackson, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Stuart Jackson as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
