SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas P. Mortimer of McHenry, who passed away on January 25, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Mortimer was born on February 26, 1940 in Chicago; his parents were Howard and Margaret Mortimer; he married Peggy Flowers on October 1, 1964; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Mortimer was employed in auto sales for 51 years; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Mortimer had a passion for selling cars and restoring old cars and was a monster Chicago Bears fan; he also loved spending time with his friends, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Mortimer was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Douglas Perrone; and his great-granddaughter, Savannah Boone; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Mortimer is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughter, Susan (Steve) Kuhn; his grandchildren, Candice (Daniel) Boone, Melissa Broker, and Amanda Perrone; his great-grandchildren, Gwyneth Broker, Sarah Boone, Leah Broker, Rebecca Boone, Blake Perrone, Danny Boone, and Ashlyn Perrone; his brother and sister, Rosemary (Richard) Lytle and Howard (Rosemary) Mortimer; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Thomas P. Mortimer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Mortimer as an expression of our sympathy.
