SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Debra Sue Johnson of Springfield, who passed away on January 24, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Debra Johnson was born in Springfield to Wilkins and Pauline Frances Cox Barbee on November 5, 1957; she graduated from Springfield High School in 1975 and married Jeff W. Johnson in Springfield on August 23, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Debra Johnson worked on the Illinois Senate Republican Staff as a secretary and legislative assistant for members of the General Assembly; she retired after 33 years of dedicated service in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Debra Johnson was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Debra Johnson was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold Eugene Barbee; and

WHEREAS, Debra Johnson is survived by her husband, Jeff; her 2 sons, Christopher William (Julie Ann) Johnson and David Scott Johnson; her brother, Dr. Charles Leroy (Margaret) Barbee; her sister, Sharon Kay (Jeffrey) Beierman; and her sister-in-law, Joanne Barbee; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Debra Sue Johnson, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Debra Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
