SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eleanor A. Colombara of Collinsville, who passed away on January 15, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara was born on February 27, 1930; she married Joe Colombara in 1966; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara was a full-time teacher at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School for 48 years and a substitute for several more; she touched the lives of thousands of students and their families; Ss. Peter and Paul named her old classroom, room 2B, after her in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara worked weekends at Home Furniture for more than 45 years and kept the books at her church; she and her husband traveled the country, attending Joe's Navy ship reunions; she enjoyed cooking and was a charter member of the Legion of Mary and Eucharistic Minister at church and to the homebound; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara was preceded in death by her father, Peter Mikalauski, and her mother, Petronella (nee Buitkus) Mikalauski; and

WHEREAS, Eleanor Colombara is survived by her husband, Joe Colombara; her 3 children, Gary (Mary) Colombara, Tom (Cynthia) Colombara, and Linda (Robert) Colombara-Buffo; her 5 grandchildren, Nicole (Grant) Kwon, Adrienne, Alexandra, and Tyler Colombara, and Brian (Dorothy) Wallheimer; and her 3 great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Katherine, and Charles Wallheimer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Eleanor A. Colombara, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eleanor Colombara as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
