SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joe Middona of Elburn, who passed away on October 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Joe Middona married Miranda in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Joe Middona worked as a plumber and was a member of Plumber's Union Local 130; and

WHEREAS, Joe Middona was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs; when he and Miranda were married, they had a brick placed in the sidewalk outside of Wrigley Field in celebration of their wedding, and Joe's bachelor party was held on a rooftop across from the ballpark; Joe and his best friend, Erik Stransky, attended the Cubs' opening day each season for the past 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Joe Middona enjoyed bowling and recently bowled a 300 game; he also enjoyed spending time with his family and taking his children to Kane County Cougars' games and Chicago Cubs' games; he coached his boys' baseball team in Wasco; and

WHEREAS, Joe Middona is survived by his wife, Miranda, and their 3 children, Gianni, Gabriele, and Vincenzo; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joe Middona, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joe Middona as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
