SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marilyn J. Hanzel of Waukegan, who passed away on December 3, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Hanzel was born on July 12, 1929 in Waukegan and was a lifelong resident; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Hanzel retired from Waukegan Public School District #60 in 2001 after 20 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Hanzel was a longtime member of St. Anastasia Parish; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Hanzel was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Hanzel; her son, Christopher Hanzel; her parents, William Kendall and Cecelia Irene Crawford; her brother-in-law, Frank Hough; her sister and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Frank DeGrazia and William Hanzel; and her parents-in-law, Leo and Helen Hanzel; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Hanzel is survived by her children, Laurie (Don) Lindskog, Richard (Debra) Hanzel, Steven Hanzel, and Mary Jo (John) Fortin; her grandchildren, Derek Lindskog (Jenny Beorkrem), Sarah (Nate) Swartzendruber, Eric Hanzel (Ali Maffey), Justin Hanzel (Brynn Jakaitis), Adam Hanzel (Maria Ortiz), Lauren Hanzel, Amanda Hanzel, Bradley Hanzel, Joseph Diesi, Hannah Diesi, and Jillian Fortin; her great-granddaughters, Lucy and Eleanor Swartzendruber; her sisters, Joan (Glen) Johnson and Carol Hough; her brother-in-law, Richard W. Hanzel; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Marilyn J. Hanzel; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marilyn Hanzel as an expression of our sympathy.
