SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William John "Bud" Auterman, who passed away on December 11, 2015; and

WHEREAS, William Auterman was born in Waterford, Wisconsin on October 9, 1926 to Theodore John Auterman and Edna Boldt; he served in the United States Army in World War II and Korea as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne, finishing with the rank of First Lieutenant; he received his degree in accounting from the University of Illinois; he married Marianna See on October 6, 1951; and

WHEREAS, William Auterman worked as an accountant for Piere, Hunt and Curzon (now CliftonLarsonAllen); he then changed to the construction industry with Whetzel Construction, later becoming Vice-President of Cross Construction; and

WHEREAS, William Auterman continued to dedicate his life to service as a volunteer for Eastern Prairie Fire Protection District for numerous years; he also served as Treasurer for the Prairielands Council of the Boy Scouts; he loved the outdoors, working with his tools, and country music, but most of all his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, William Auterman was preceded in death by his wife, Marianna Auterman; his brother-in-law, Frank Graham; and his niece, Michelle Ohme; and

WHEREAS, William Auterman has a daughter, Beth Auterman, with a grandson, Theodore Jon Auterman; and a son, Daniel Jon Auterman (Jacqui), with grandchildren, Laura Phillips, Joshua Auterman (Danyale), and Jesse Auterman, in addition to 2 great-grandchildren, Collin and Kolby Phillips; also surviving are 2 sisters, Olive Graham and Arlene (Arlen) Reynolds; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William John "Bud" Auterman, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Auterman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
