SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stanley R. Hoff, who passed away on December 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Hoff was born on February 19, 1923 in New York City; his parents were John and Leah (nee Wolff) Hoff; he married Sara Shub on July 21, 1943 in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Hoff enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in World War II; years later, he was recalled for both the Korean Conflict and the Berlin Blockade; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Hoff was an executive and an engineer in the technology field until his retirement in the late 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Hoff enjoyed skiing, tennis, windsurfing, and volunteering and community service; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Hoff was preceded in death by his grandson, Jayson (Jamie) Mogilner; and

WHEREAS, Stanley Hoff is survived by his wife, Sara; his daughter, Lynda (Alan) Mogilner; his son, Ronald Hoff; his grandchildren, Geoffrey (Ellie) Mogilner and Rachael (Michael) Scherer; his great-grandchildren, Robert, Max, Matthew, Aaron, Abigail, Benjamin, and Nathan; and his brother, Charles (Sheila) Hoff; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Stanley R. Hoff; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stanley Hoff as an expression of our sympathy.
