SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James McNeese, M.D. of Oak Park, who
4passed away on August 28, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on
6January 1, 1925 to James W. and Florence (nee Hunter) McNeese;
7he worked in various levels of medicine before completing his
8Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico School of
9Medicine in 1965; he interned in Texas and completed his
10residency in dermatology at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of
11Cook County; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese settled in Oak Park in 1969 and
13began his private practice in La Grange; he was a member of the
14American Academy of Dermatology; he married Mona Leininger in
151976; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese continued to be a student,
17eventually working his way through many volumes of the Great
18Courses program; he loved liberal and progressive politics; he
19worked for the Democratic Party and headed the Portland, Oregon
20"Young Democrats" during the Kennedy campaign of 1960; his
21"handshake photo" with then-candidate Kennedy was a prized
22possession; he was also an avid chess player, writer, dreamer,

1musician, and poet; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese was preceded in death by his
3daughter, Megan; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dr. James McNeese is survived by his daughters,
5Amanda McNeese and Amy McNeese-Mechan; his son, Terry McNeese
6(Karen Farmer); Mona's daughters, Robin Zimmerman and Dana
7Zimmerman Murphy (Michael Murphy); and he will always be
8Grandpa Jimmie to Tom, Dan, and Jack Murphy; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11James McNeese, M.D., and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dr. James McNeese as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
