| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jimmy D. "Snapper" Knapp of Metamora, who | 4 | | passed away on November 18, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Knapp was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on | 6 | | February 12, 1941 to YuVonne O. and Mescal A. (Huen) Knapp; he | 7 | | served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965; he married | 8 | | Janice F. Carrico in Paducah, Kentucky on November 26, 1966; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Knapp worked as a structural ironworker and | 11 | | was an assistant business agent for 35 years with Local 112 in | 12 | | East Peoria before retiring in 2001; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Knapp attended auctioneer school in Iowa; he | 14 | | donated his time to Ducks Unlimited and the Mennonite Relief | 15 | | Sale; he was also an announcer at various events over the | 16 | | years, including the Illinois State Fair, the Heart of Illinois | 17 | | Fair, horse shows, horse races, and truck and tractor pulls; he | 18 | | was a member of Hilton Masonic Lodge 1143 AF & AM, Scottish | 19 | | Rites Bodies, Valley of Peoria, and the Mohamed Shrine Temple; | 20 | | he earned his private pilot's license in the late 1960s; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Knapp was preceded in death by his sister, |

| 1 | | Marilyn Prokop, and his half-brother, Don Lutz; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Knapp is survived by his wife, Janice; his 2 | 3 | | daughters, Kimberly (Thomas) Dempsey and Shawna (Kevin) | 4 | | Collins; his granddaughter, Cadence Dempsey; and his 2 | 5 | | half-brothers, W.R. Lutz and Jake Lutz; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Jimmy D. "Snapper" Knapp, and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Jimmy Knapp as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
