SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert G. Merritt of Deerfield, who passed away on November 12, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Robert Merritt served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Robert Merritt was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara "Bobbie", and his niece, Joan North; and

WHEREAS, Robert Merritt was the loving father of Robin (Steven) Meyer; the cherished grandfather of Kelsey and Courtney; the adored great-uncle of Michael North and Cindy (Rod) Boston; and the great-great uncle of Reese North and Hannah and Hailey Boston; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert G. Merritt; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Merritt as an expression of our sympathy.
