SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward "Bud" Kunzeman of Alsey, who
4passed away on November 14, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Kunzeman was born in Cass County on August
66, 1924 to Edward Jesse and Lydia Korsmeyer Kunzeman; he
7married Erma Louise Alhorn on May 19, 1946 in a double ceremony
8with her sister, Bernice; he later married Rose Wells Gourley
9McGlasson on June 20, 2001 in Branson, Missouri; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Edward Kunzeman was a lifelong farmer and federal
11grain inspector; he served as Fire Chief of Glasgow and as a
124-H leader for many years in the Glasgow and Alsey communities;
13he also served as a school board member for the Winchester
14School District and was a precinct committeeman; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Edward Kunzeman belonged to the Glasgow Saddle
16Club and enjoyed western square dancing, hunting, camping, and
17boating; he was a 50-year founding member of Christ Lutheran
18Church in Winchester; he loved his family and enjoyed spending
19time with his kids and grandkids; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Edward Kunzeman was preceded in death by his first
21wife, Erma; his granddaughter, Penny Spangler; and his 2

1brothers, Wilbur (surviving wife, Betty) Kunzeman and Glen
2(surviving wife, Nancy) Kunzeman; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Edward Kunzeman is survived by his wife, Rose; his
4children, Larry (Nancy) Kunzeman, Reginald (Teresa) Kunzeman,
5and Carol (Mark) Spangler; his 3 stepchildren, Steve (Nancy)
6Gourley, Diane (Larry) Cox, and Janice (Jules) Gourley; his 9
7grandchildren, Rodney (Lisa) Curry, DeeAnn (Bobby) Schuelter,
8Eric (Jill) Kunzeman, Micah Kunzeman, Cari (Jason) Gold,
9Christy (Chris) Hillman, Brandon Kunzeman, Tracey (Terry)
10Lawson, and Kelly (Neal) Meyer; his 8 step-grandchildren; and
11his 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Edward "Bud" Kunzeman, and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Edward Kunzeman as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
