SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kathleen Brock of Woodstock, who passed away on November 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Brock was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 19, 1940 to John and Marrietta (nee Patterson) Tomorsky; she married Barry Charles Brock on February 3, 1961 in Tecumseh, Michigan; she graduated from the Mercy Nursing College of Toledo, Ohio; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Brock worked as a registered nurse for over 54 years; she most recently worked for Kindred Home Healthcare; she was instrumental in helping write the original Illinois CNA Licensing Program; she was also instrumental in helping open the Alcohol Recovery Unit at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, as well as the Women's Residential Services for Lake County; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Brock enjoyed trips to Marco Island with her husband; she also enjoyed spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Brock was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Barry Charles Brock; and

WHEREAS, Kathleen Brock is survived by her 2 daughters, Kelly (Brian) Ormsby Mason and Terri Brock (Steven Weinstock); her 3 grandchildren, Sophie Margit Mason, Aiden Brock Codding Mason, and Michael Barry Cascarano; and her cousin, Renee (David) Rosekrans; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kathleen Brock, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kathleen Brock as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
