SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harold Joseph Thomeczek, Sr. of Godfrey,
4who passed away on November 22, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Thomeczek, Sr. was born in Trenton on April
66, 1933 to Roman "Tommy" and Anne G. (Cassler) Thomeczek; he
7played football for the University of Missouri and was drafted
8by the NFL, but chose to serve his country in the United States
9Air Force; he married Judy Nance on May 2, 1958 in Sacramento,
10California; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harold Thomeczek, Sr. retired as the owner of the
12Thomeczek Oil Company and Pit Stop Corporation; he served on
13the Board of Directors for the OSF St. Anthony's and Lewis and
14Clark Community College Foundations; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Harold Thomeczek, Sr. was a member of St. Ambrose
16Catholic Church in Godfrey; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Harold Thomeczek, Sr. was preceded in death by his
18parents; his wife, Judy; his 2 sons, Thomas Michael Thomeczek
19and Harold J. Thomeczek, Jr.; and his brother, Raymond
20Thomeczek; and

1    WHEREAS, Harold Thomeczek, Sr. is survived by his 3
2daughters, Mary Anna (Kent) Newcomb, Georgia (Greg) Adams, and
3Monica Thomeczek Meyer; his son, Daniel R. (Jodie) Thomeczek;
4his 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Maddie, and Abby Newcomb, Karra,
5Nyssa, and Kynlee Adams, and Roman, Owen, Addison, Caleb, and
6Drew Thomeczek; and his 2 sisters, Jean Hauck and Barbara
7Kimball; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Harold Joseph Thomeczek, Sr., and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Harold Thomeczek, Sr. as an
15expression of our deepest sympathy.
