SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Dale Lamb of Greenfield, who passed away on December 16, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Robert Lamb was born near St. Joseph, Missouri on February 13, 1929 to Kathryn (nee Chrissinger) and Kenneth O. Lamb; he attended Bluffs High School; he married Netta LaVern Hart on December 15, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Robert Lamb began working at the age of 15; he worked on a farm, as a welder at Allis Chalmers, and as a truck driver; he and his wife bought a blacksmith shop in Greenfield in 1954 and established the company that would become Bob Lamb Co., Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Robert Lamb was named an honorary parade marshall for the Greenville Homecoming in 2007; he enjoyed riding motorcycles, trap shooting, hunting, repairing tractors, and participating in Classic Iron, a group of tractor enthusiasts who display farming machinery and raise funds for charitable causes; for many years, he traveled to Texas where he met new friends and enjoyed warm winters; and

WHEREAS, Robert Lamb was preceded in death by his wife, Netta; and

WHEREAS, Robert Lamb is survived by his children, Robert J., Ken (Lissa), Eric (Lesta), and Melissa (Tom) Pantier; his grandchildren, Jason (Michelle), Kyle (Kristi), Heather, Jake (Beth), Luke, Jeb, Jed, and Thad (Rachel) Lamb, Kristen (Dan) Bilbruck, Abby (Randy) Schnettgoecke, Lindsay (Larry) Wentzel, and Scott and Leanna Pantier; his 15 great-grandchildren; his 4 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his sister, Joy Pitman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Dale Lamb, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Lamb as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
