SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bernice M. "Tupie" Deckard of St. Francisville, who passed away on October 5, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Bernice Deckard was born on January 21, 1947 in Lawrenceville; her parents were William J. "Bill" Allen and Bernice L. (nee Dunstedter) Allen; she married Robert E. "Bob" Deckard on January 12, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Bernice Deckard was a very active member of the St. Francisville Christian Church and the St. Francisville Women's Club; she loved her family and was a proud and loving homemaker to them; and

WHEREAS, Bernice Deckard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her sister, Bonnie Allen; and

WHEREAS, Bernice Deckard is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Rodney) Allen Cox; her sons, Jack (Sandy) Maxvill, Robert "Bobby" Deckard, Jr., and David Deckard; her sisters, Barbara Hixon, Beverly (Bill) Perrin, Betsy (Larry) Hoback, and Brenda Kaul; her brother, William "Billy" Allen, II; her grandchildren, Crystal Cox, Amy Hartmann, Rodney Cox, Jr., Andrew "Andy" (Madden) Deckard, Madyson Deckard, Christopher Deckard, and Jenny Maxvill; her 2 great-grandchildren; her many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Molly B; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Bernice M. "Tupie" Deckard; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bernice Deckard as an expression of our sympathy.
