SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Edward Charles O'Connell, who passed away on October 19, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Edward O'Connell was born on August 17, 1932 in Chicago; his parents were William and Louise (nee Carrier) O'Connell; and

WHEREAS, Edward O'Connell served his country with pride as a member of the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict; and

WHEREAS, Edward O'Connell was the beloved husband of Veronica "Vera" (nee Tunney); the loving grandfather of Simone; the devoted great-grandfather of Aiden; the dearest brother of Betty Lewis and the late William; and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward Charles O'Connell; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Edward O'Connell as an expression of our sympathy.
