SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary Fitzgibbons, who passed away on September 9, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Gary Fitzgibbons was born in Northfield; his parents were Elizabeth and Joseph Fitzgibbons; and

WHEREAS, Gary Fitzgibbons attended Loyola Academy in Wilmette and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a member of the soccer team; and

WHEREAS, Gary Fitzgibbons was an active member of St. Mary's of Vernon Parish; he served on the pastoral counsel, as a Eucharistic minister, and taught catechism classes for many years; and

WHEREAS, Gary Fitzgibbons enjoyed spending his free time with his children and grandchildren, watching Notre Dame football, and watching movies; and

WHEREAS, Gary Fitzgibbons is survived by his loving children, Kelly (Jeff) Vergamini, Patrick (Mindy) Fitzgibbons, Erin Fitzgibbons, and Ryan Fitzgibbons; he was also the proud grandfather of Jack, PJ, Ashley, and Michael; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Gary Fitzgibbons; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Fitzgibbons as an expression of our sympathy.
