| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William F. "Bill" Hardin of Peoria, who | 4 | | passed away on October 13, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hardin was born on July 18, 1926 to Frank E. | 6 | | and Daisy M. (nee Stoughton) Hardin; he served in the United | 7 | | States Navy during World War II and graduated from Bradley | 8 | | University, where he was active in the Sigma Chi Fraternity; he | 9 | | married Marian Hoerr on July 29, 1950 at Westminster | 10 | | Presbyterian Church in Peoria; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hardin was the founder and owner of Hardin | 12 | | Signs in Peoria, where he worked for 46 years; he was a | 13 | | professional portrait painter; he began with landscape | 14 | | painting and after taking seminars in New York, developed a | 15 | | love for portrait painting; every year for the last 13 years, | 16 | | he printed calendars with 12 of his paintings and their | 17 | | descriptions; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hardin was an active member and past | 19 | | President of Rotary Club 76 in Peoria; he and his wife enjoyed | 20 | | taking trips to their cabin in Door County, Wisconsin, where he | 21 | | added a studio and could often be found painting; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hardin was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Marian; his parents; his brother, Norton Hardin; and his 2 | 3 | | sisters, Bette Petran and Ann Crawshaw; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hardin is survived by his children, Jim | 5 | | (Debby) Hardin, Kelly (Rocky) Nohl, and Joan (Jeff) Weiser; his | 6 | | grandchildren, Carrie (Matt) Garman, Tanner Hardin, Curtis | 7 | | (Val), Brent (Amy), Valerie, and Caroline Nohl, Karen (Maru) | 8 | | Maruyama, and Kristen Watts; and his great-grandchildren, | 9 | | Avery and Ruby Garman and Carter, Mason, and Oliver Nohl; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | William F. "Bill" Hardin, and extend our sincere condolences to | 14 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
