SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ervin "Bud" Bridges of Springfield, who
4passed away on October 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was born on March 30, 1925 in
6Eskridge, Kansas; his parents were William Earl and Pansy Belle
7Ensminger Bridges; he married Ida Mae Wilber on October 25,
81942 in St. Louis, Missouri; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges attended Waverly High School and
10earned his associate's degree from Springfield Junior College;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was employed at Pillsbury for 19
13years; he also owned and operated 6 service stations from 1958
14to 1995; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was an active member of the Shriners
16and the Polka Lovers Klub of America; he enjoyed bowling,
17Pinochle, dancing the polka, and square dancing; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was preceded in death by his
19parents; his son, John Michael Bridges; his sisters, Rose
20Loveless and Laura Belle Bridges; and his brother, William

1Bridges; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges is survived by his wife of 72 years,
3Ida Mae; his son, David (Cindy) Bridges; his daughter-in-law,
4Chris Bridges; his 8 grandchildren; his 18
5great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mabel March and Isla Faye
6(Jerry) Holiday; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Ervin "Bud" Bridges;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Ervin Bridges as an expression of
14our sympathy.
