SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ervin "Bud" Bridges of Springfield, who passed away on October 3, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was born on March 30, 1925 in Eskridge, Kansas; his parents were William Earl and Pansy Belle Ensminger Bridges; he married Ida Mae Wilber on October 25, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges attended Waverly High School and earned his associate's degree from Springfield Junior College; and

WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was employed at Pillsbury for 19 years; he also owned and operated 6 service stations from 1958 to 1995; and

WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was an active member of the Shriners and the Polka Lovers Klub of America; he enjoyed bowling, Pinochle, dancing the polka, and square dancing; and

WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John Michael Bridges; his sisters, Rose Loveless and Laura Belle Bridges; and his brother, William Bridges; and

WHEREAS, Ervin Bridges is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ida Mae; his son, David (Cindy) Bridges; his daughter-in-law, Chris Bridges; his 8 grandchildren; his 18 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mabel March and Isla Faye (Jerry) Holiday; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Ervin "Bud" Bridges; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ervin Bridges as an expression of our sympathy.
