SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alan Ryle of Champaign, who passed away
4on October 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alan Ryle was born on January 11, 1952 to Robert
6and Carolyn Gilbert Ryle; he married Lynn Lanman on June 11,
71972; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Alan Ryle was a very active member of the
9community and a passionate advocate for the disabled; he had
10worked with the developmentally disabled since 1973; he and his
11wife went on to establish the Alan G. Ryle Companies, which
12provides residential facilities and programming for adults
13with developmental disabilities; he was a longtime board member
14and former President of Community Elements; he also served on
15the board of Illinois Association of Rehabilitation
16Facilities; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Alan Ryle was a parishioner of Emmanuel Memorial
18Episcopal Church, where he was a past Vestry member and
19Rector's Warden; he enjoyed reading and music; he was an avid
20Illinois fan and a devoted fan of the Arizona Cardinals and the
21Chicago White Sox; and

1    WHEREAS, Alan Ryle was preceded in death by his parents,
2Carolyn Ryle-Smith and Robert Ryle; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Alan Ryle is survived by his wife, Lynn; his 2
4sons, Scott (Stephanie) and Nathaniel (Courtney) Ryle; his
5father, Millburn Smith; his brother, Lynn Smith; his sister,
6Vivian Bales; and his grandsons Cameron, Zachary, and Nolan
7Ryle; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Alan Ryle, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Alan Ryle as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
