SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles C. Cage, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on September 17, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. was born on November 6, 1922 in Waldenburg, Arkansas; his parents were Charles C. and Edith H. (nee Millahn) Cage; and

WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions in Europe and as a meteorologist in the Army Air Corps; and

WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. earned his master's degree in meteorology from the California Institute of Technology; and

WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; his sister; Ila Mae Glenn; and his brothers, Lamar and William Cage; and

WHEREAS, Charles Cage, Jr. is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte C. (nee Voss) Cage; his children, Col. Steven (Sandra) Cage, Susan (David) Burgess, Timothy Cage, and Rev. Peter (Patricia) Cage; his grandchildren, Kristen (Charles) Murphy, Daniel, Erin, and Lauren Burgess, and Emily, Elizabeth, Michelle, Connor, and Cameron Cage; his great-grandson, Lyle Burgess; and his sister-in-law, Jean Voss; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles C. Cage, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Cage, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
