SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey Thomas "Doc" Lantz of Coal Valley, who passed away on September 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 1, 1947 to Theodore R. and Eileen (nee Pliette) Lantz; he graduated from West High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1965 and then attended St. Ambrose College; he served his county with the 1st BN 4th Marines as a corpsman in Vietnam; he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal (Bronze Star), the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the National Defense Service Medal; he married Wilma Jean Parks on June 6, 1981 in Davenport; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1987 after 25 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was a lifetime member of Vietnam Veterans of America #299, where he served as a member of the honor guard; he was a member of the Marine Corps League in Columbus, South Carolina; he enjoyed fishing and helping others; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz was preceded in death by his father, Theodore; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Lantz is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean; his daughter, Debbie Heald; his granddaughters, Abigail Heald and Nicole Heald; his mother, Eileen Lantz; his sister, Ann Lange (Brad); his brother, Bruce Lantz (Lora); and his nephews, James and Andrew Lange; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeffrey Thomas "Doc" Lantz, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Lantz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
