1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Conservation Foundation Act is
5amended by adding Section 25 as follows:
 
6    (20 ILCS 880/25 new)
7    Sec. 25. Terms. Notwithstanding any provision of this Act
8to the contrary, the term of office of each member of the Board
9of Directors serving on the day before the effective date of
10this amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly is abolished
11on the date upon which members of the 12-member board have been
12appointed and can begin to take action as a board. Members of
13the Board of Directors serving on the day before the effective
14date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly may be
15reappointed to the 12-member board.
16    Of those 12 members initially appointed following the
17effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General
18Assembly, 4 shall serve for terms expiring July 1, 2016, 4
19shall serve for terms expiring July 1, 2017, and 4 shall serve
20for terms expiring July 1, 2018. Thereafter, each appointed
21member shall hold office for a term of 4 years, provided that
22any member appointed to fill a vacancy occurring before the
23expiration of the term for which his or her predecessor was

1appointed shall be appointed for the remainder of that term and
2the term of office of each successor shall begin on July 1 of
3the year in which his or her predecessor's term expires. Each
4member appointed after the effective date of this amendatory
5Act of the 99th General Assembly shall hold office until his or
6her successor is appointed and qualified. Any member of the
7board who has served 2 consecutive 4-year terms is ineligible
8for reappointment for a period of one year following the
9expiration of the second term.
