SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

415 ILCS 5/13.8 new

Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that the Environmental Protection Agency shall randomly sample the upgradient and downgradient monitoring wells designated on or before the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly near any landfill that is located above an aquifer designated as a sole source aquifer by the United States Environmental Protection Agency at least 6 times a year.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by adding Section 13.8 as follows:

Sec. 13.8. Sole source aquifer well testing. The Agency shall randomly sample the upgradient and downgradient monitoring wells designated on or before the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General Assembly near any landfill that is located above an aquifer designated as a sole source aquifer by the United States Environmental Protection Agency at least 6 times a year.
