HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Vincent "Joe" Dee of Chicago Heights; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Dee was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Dee retired from the Calumet Steel Company after 42 years of service; he later enjoyed his work for Skyline Disposal/B-52 Shredding; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Dee's love of sports and coaching led to a long career as a high school football referee for the IHSA and as a football and basketball coach at St. Agnes Parish and for Chicago Heights Small Fry basketball; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Dee was inducted into the Marian Catholic High School Hall of Fame as the "Lifetime Achievement" award recipient for 2008; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Dee was a proud member of the St. Agnes Holy Name Society; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Dee was the husband of Bernice (nee Patrizi) for 53 years; the father of James (Cathy), Thomas (Mary Jane), Timothy (Kim), and John (Caren); the loving "Papa" to his grandchildren, Matthew, Meaghan (Michael Beechin), Shannon, Katlynn, Alyssa, Keely, Jocelyn, Haley, Timothy, Sean, Ryan, Nicholas, and Lannah; the son of the late Mary (nee Walsh) and Vincent J. Dee; and the brother of Dennis (Tirtzah) Dee, Kathleen Dee, and Margaret (Charles) Hansen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Vincent "Joe" Dee; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vincent Dee as an expression of our sympathy.
