HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate James Mahlandt on the occasion of his retirement as Fire Chief for the Carlyle Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mahlandt was born to Elmer and Gladys Mahlandt on September 15, 1939; he married Helen Gross on September 21, 1963; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mahlandt joined the Carlyle Fire Department on December 5, 1960; he became Chief in 1972; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mahlandt also worked in the lumber business for 55 years, retiring on February 28, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mahlandt has 2 sons, Jim (Lesley) and Scott (Cheryl), and 4 grandchildren, Braden, Meagan, Alaina, and Austin; and

WHEREAS, Chief Mahlandt's last day as Chief was December 31, 2015; he will be staying on with the department; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate James Mahlandt on his retirement as Fire Chief for the Carlyle Fire Department, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Mahlandt as an expression of our esteem and respect.
