HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Arcola High School Purple Riders on winning the 2015 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Championship in football; and

WHEREAS, This is the Purple Rider's 4th Class 1A State Championship; they previously won the championship in 1978, 1985, and 1988; they finished 2nd in 1977, 1991, and 1995; and

WHEREAS, On their way to the championship, the Purple Riders outscored opponents 714, the third most points in IHSA history, to 78; they had a running clock against 12 of their 14 opponents; averaged 51 points per game, 7th most in IHSA history; scored 97 touchdowns, 3rd most in IHSA history, with 66 of those being rushing touchdowns, 7th most in IHSA history; and intercepted the ball 29 times, 8th most in IHSA history; they had 5,396 yards of offense on the season and held opponents to 1,329 yards; and

WHEREAS, The Purple Riders have the 3rd most wins in football in the State; and

WHEREAS, The Purple Riders are Conner Strader, Clayton Strader, Parker Ingram, Kollin Seaman, Martin Rund, Daniel Mendoza, Victor Gonzalez, Myles Roberts, Blake Lindenmeyer, Seth Still, Chase Strader, Mario Cortez, Sam Crane, Alec Downs, Tony Salinas, Wyatt Fishel, Giovanni Salinas, Brandon Lebeter, Cole Hutton, Rey Garza, Ethan Still, Mason Gentry, Javi Leal, Pablo Rodriguez, Kaleb Byard, Jonny Garza, Dalton Pantier, Gavin Coombe, Luke Spencer, Tito Garcia, Clayton Kuhring, Jack Spencer, Alex Kauffman, Aaron Dudley, Grant McPherson, Jorge Garza, and Jack Nacke; and

WHEREAS, The Purple Riders head coach is Zach Zehr; the assistant coaches are Tommy Eddleman, Jim Fishel, Aldo Garcia, Chad Hopkins, Jarod Kiger, and John Lidy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Arcola High School Purple Riders on winning the 2015 Illinois High School Association Class 1A State Championship in football and we wish them many more years of success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented the Purple Riders as an expression of our esteem and respect.
