HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Raymond Lunz for receiving the "2015 Best School Blood Drive Coordinator Award" from the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers; and

WHEREAS, In 2012, Raymond Lunz began overseeing the organization blood drives at Morton East High School in Cicero, which are held 3 times a year; and

WHEREAS, The success of Morton East's blood drives are a result of Raymond Lunz's leadership in organizing multi-day donor recruitment campaigns prior to the drives; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Lunz's strong recruitment efforts have led to over 500 students being registered to donate prior to each blood drive, which is a huge percentage of the school's eligible donors; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Lunz works with Morton East's administrative leadership to ensure the blood drives receive great exposure and are advertised on televisions throughout the school; and

WHEREAS, The results of Raymond Lunz's efforts will continue to be seen for years to come because of the critical role high school blood drives play in cultivating lifetime donors; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Lunz has been responsible for the collection of over 5,500 units of blood, which have had the potential to save over 15,000 lives; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Raymond Lunz for his selfless service to his community and his strong commitment to his students; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Raymond Lunz as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
