HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Dr. John McConnaughy on the occasion of his retirement as a chiropractor on September 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Dr. John McConnaughy first received chiropractic care for football injuries while he was in high school; after being helped multiple times, he saw the benefit of drug-free pain relief and improved health; and

WHEREAS, After attending junior college and serving for 4 years in the United States Navy, Dr. John McConnaughy decided to become a Doctor of Chiropractic; he attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated in 1982; he also attended the Logan College of Chiropractic and received his Chiropractic Sports Physician certification; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from college, Dr. John McConnaughy worked as an associate for a doctor in Olney and West Salem; in 1986, he opened his practice in Carterville, which eventually grew so much over the years that 3 location changes were required for more space; and

WHEREAS, Dr. John McConnaughy and his wife, Janice, have been active members of Tri-C Athletics, the Rotary, the local Chamber of Commerce, and numerous church and local organizations for many years; and

WHEREAS, Dr. John McConnaughy serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. John McConnaughy on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. John McConnaughy as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
