HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Dr. John McConnaughy on
4the occasion of his retirement as a chiropractor on September
530, 2015; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dr. John McConnaughy first received chiropractic
7care for football injuries while he was in high school; after
8being helped multiple times, he saw the benefit of drug-free
9pain relief and improved health; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After attending junior college and serving for 4
11years in the United States Navy, Dr. John McConnaughy decided
12to become a Doctor of Chiropractic; he attended Palmer College
13of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated in 1982;
14he also attended the Logan College of Chiropractic and received
15his Chiropractic Sports Physician certification; and
 
16    WHEREAS, After graduating from college, Dr. John
17McConnaughy worked as an associate for a doctor in Olney and
18West Salem; in 1986, he opened his practice in Carterville,
19which eventually grew so much over the years that 3 location
20changes were required for more space; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Dr. John McConnaughy and his wife, Janice, have

1been active members of Tri-C Athletics, the Rotary, the local
2Chamber of Commerce, and numerous church and local
3organizations for many years; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dr. John McConnaughy serves as a model of hard
5work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
6Illinois; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9congratulate Dr. John McConnaughy on the occasion of his
10retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the
11future; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Dr. John McConnaughy as a symbol of our esteem and
14respect.
